Glbally, the field of language teaching has been expanding rapidly over the past
twenty years. This growth has created not only a demand for language teachers,
but also a demand for managers of language teaching centers and organizations.
As in many fields, managers are often recruited from among an organizations's outstanding
employees. In many cases, these emplotees are teachers. While these teacher-managers are often excellent
teacher, they may not be successful or well-prepared managers. The International Diploma in Language Teaching
Management(IDLTM) addresses this need. It offers teachers and new managers alike the skill they need to
bridge the gap from classroom to business management. The training course was jointly designed by the
School for Internatinal Training(USA), the University of Cambridge ESOL Examination(UK), and the University
of Qeensland(Australia), making it a truly portable, globally recognized qualification
